MIAMI (CBSMiami) - In the dark of night people began lining up in front of Apple stores across the country to be some of the first to own a new iPhone 7.

Dozens of people camped out in front of Apple store on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.

Rosh Robertson said he's been in line for nearly 24 hours.

"I would say about 9 o clock yesterday morning," said Robertson.

As to why?

"Just the big hype about the phone, anticipation and I'm getting paid to do it so it's just really what it comes down to," he said.

Those who try to get one later may be disappointed, Apple is struggling to keep up with demand.

The company recently announced that no iPhone 7 Plus or jet black iPhone 7 phones will be available at its stores because they are currently sold out.
