MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins are ready to show off the newly renovated Hard Rock Stadium and on Monday they did just that.

Before leading local members of the media on a tour of the facility, Dolphins President and CEO Tom Garfinkel announced the team was joining into an innovative multi-year partnership with ride service company Uber.

"We recognize that getting in and out of the stadium and traffic is one of the challenges we have with fans as we continue to compete with 60-inch high definition televisions," Garfinkel said. "We are excited to partner with Uber in this innovative way and want to change our fans' experiences of getting to and from these events while reimagining the tailgate experience."

The Dolphins become the first professional sports team to partner up with an online transportation company like Uber.

"Uber is excited to partner with the Miami Dolphins, using our technology to enhance the fan experience at one of the world's best sports venues," Uber Regional General Manager U.S. & Canada Rachel Holt said. "This innovative partnership leverages the convenience and reliability of ridesharing to give fans safe and easily accessible transportation options before and after every game."

There will be a designated area of the Hard Rock Stadium parking lot located near the Florida Turnpike access road just for Uber drop offs and pickups, which will include an Uber Zone walkway for fans to get from the lot to the stadium safely.

The Uber service will be available for all events at Hard Rock Stadium.

Another service being offered is the Uber Tailgate, which gives fans who utilize the service to attend games an opportunity to tailgate despite not bringing a vehicle.

The cost of the spots will be $250 for games against the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titnas, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals.

The price goes up to $350 for games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets and New England Patriots.

The cost includes a private area, tent, grill, cooler, plastic silverware, furniture, water and access to a general store to buy additional items.

There will be 20 spots available per game for fans to reserve.

The Uber Tailgate service will be available beginning with the Dolphins regular season home opener against the Cleveland Browns on September 25th.
