MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A drive-by shooting during a wake has killed two people and left four others hurt in Miami.

Just past midnight, officers arrived to the large gathering at a home near N.W. 83rd Terrace and N.W. 19th Avenue to find six people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced two of the victims dead upon arrival, including a 15-year-old boy.

Three adults were transported to Jackson Memorial's Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition. A fourth victim, an adult male, was treated and released.

More than 50 shell casings were discovered on scene.

"I was sitting at my house in the chair and we heard multiple gunshots, it was like over fifty," said neighbor Chantel Walton. "We heard a lot of screaming."

Walton took a woman who was shot into her home and began calling the police.

"We saw her with the gunshot wound," said Walton. "And then we all tried to call 911 but everybody phones just jammed. They wouldn't dial out. And we came out, that's when we saw the young man in the car. That's my son's friend and he was shot multiple times."

She offered help before realizing it was too late.

The irony that the gathering was for another young man who died last week did not go unnoticed.

"All the kids were actually at a wake for another friend who had just got killed. And that's the sad part," she said. "A wake turned into a tragedy."

Just as tragic is the continuous and seemingly endless cycle of violence.

"People are being loyal to the streets and not talking. And this is the reason that it keeps happening. And if nobody talks, it's never going to change," Walton added. "Unfortunately, nobody wants to say anything. I didn't see anything. But then again, I wasn't out here."

Investigators said that the shooters fled in an unknown vehicle.
