MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There are two very active scenes in a northwest Miami-Dade neighborhood as police investigate a fatal shooting.

Chopper4 flew over the first scene off NW 127th Street and 17th Avenue.

A man's body was covered by a yellow tarp right next to a yellow convertible.

The scene is right in front of a shopping center.

A number of loved ones and family members overcome with grief have gathered nearby, trying to get information about what happened.

Family members told CBS4's Oralia Ortega the shooting victim is a 24 years old male.

They gave us a name, but we're waiting to confirm that information with police.

The other scene, where police say the altercation began, is a couple of blocks away off NW 126th Street and 18th court.

There were a number of bullet casings on the street as well as police officers with rifles searching the area along with K9s.

Police said another man was grazed by a bullet in the altercation.

Authorities have not said if they have a person in custody or if they are looking for someone.

The shooting led to Westview Middle School, located off 127th Street and NW 19th Avenue, being placed on lockdown for about an hour. The lockdown has since been lifted.

If you have any information, contact Miami Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
