Deerfield Beach Couple Targeted In Violent Home Invasion

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) -- A Deerfield Beach couple is recovering from a violent armed home invasion.
"It's been a traumatic experience," the husband told CBS4 News reporter Joan Murray.
The man says he was leaving his apartment at 429 Lock Road around 9 a.m. Wednesday when a masked gunman shoved him back inside.
He says he and his wife were forced to lie on the floor at gunpoint while their apartment was ransacked.
"He threatened our lives on several occasions," the man said.
The gunman somehow managed to get through a locked door that leads to a hallway of the Pine Tree Lakes Apartment.
Neighbor Collin Morris said the wife was terrified.
"She was afraid. They were on their stomachs," Morris said. "It's crazy."
During that agonizing hour on the, floor the gunman stole jewelry and electronics, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The man and his wife didn't know if they would be alive when it was over.
"I hope they can catch him. You can't traumatize people like that," the victim said.
The gunman is described as being between 5-foot 7-inches and 5-foot 9-inches tall, weighing 145 pounds.
He was wearing a cloth over his face and a hooded gray sweater.
