LAUDERDALE LAKES (CBSMiami) – The family of a 5-year-old girl endured a frightening day after the child went missing from a Lauderdale Lakes school on Tuesday afternoon.

Shinelle Isaac's mother, Desiree Furlong, says she is pulling her and her older sister from the school, Central Charter.

The 5-year-old was reunited with her mother, sister and other family members on Tuesday evening around 10 p.m.

The Broward Sheriff's Office put out a missing child alert after the girl was not seen since 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the school.

The little girl's family told CBS4 News the child was not supposed to get on a bus until her older sister was leaving the school.

However, Shinelle's family said she was placed on a bus and got off the bus at a nearby daycare where she remained for hours.

The family said someone at the daycare saw a post on Facebook and realized that Shinelle was the missing girl.

"They need to get this thing situated," said Shinice Isaac, Shinelle's sister. "They need to pay more attention to the kids and where they're going. Be more responsible for the kids. This is child neglect."

Furlong also called what happened to her daughter "neglect." She said she is simply glad to have her daughter back in her arms.

"My heart starts beating and I'm just glad she's home," said Furlong. "That's it"

CBS4's Carey Codd called the school so they could respond to the family's allegations. He spoke to someone briefly, but they placed him on hold and no one ever picked up the line.
