Toddler Survives After Boat Capsizes

COCOA (CBSMiami/AP) — A miracle on the water in the middle the state. A toddler managed to stay afloat in an air pocket of a capsized boat until help arrived.

The Cocoa Police Department received multiple 911 calls Friday night following a boat crash on the Indian River. Four officers jumped in the water and started searching for victims.

A nearby boater also helped in the search.

Rescuers quickly found two adults and an infant. Police for nearly an hour until they found the 23-month old girl trapped beneath the boat. She was wearing a life jacket.

The child was treated by paramedics, who took her to the hospital.

She was listed in good condition.
