Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show Announces Family Day Activities

The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show announces its first Family Day, when on Sunday, September 4th kids 14 and under are admitted free when entering with a paying adult. Parents no longer have to leave the kids at home while interacting with industry experts and shopping for the many items that will help them jump start their Fall home improvement projects. There will be a lot of new family-friendly activities at the Miami Home Show, September 2-6, 2016 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Here are some activities scheduled for the weekend.

Fun for the Kids

Educate your Tiny Foody with Chef Joshua Wahler of BORN FOODY who will share his professional and father savviness with children and their parents. Learn how to inspire the "picky eater" with healthy and delicious recipe tips and samples. – Sunday, September 4th at 3:30 p.m.;

Eat Dessert First with Myriam "Chef Mimi" Charles of Lux Cakery who presents, "Sweet Treats for the Family" and enjoy tasty samples too! – Sunday, September 4th at 1:30 p.m.;

Play Ball – Get into the swing of after-school sports season with the Miami Marlins who will have representatives, Billy the Marlin and the Miami Marlins Energy Team onsite all weekend long. Artist EncounterMeet 23 South Florida artists and see their work in the #AtHomewithArt feature area. Have an Instagram-friendly photo taken by a well-known photojournalist at the IPC Visual Lab/Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance booth curated by Pulitzer Prize winning, Miami Herald photojournalist Carl Juste. Live painting onsite by participating artists from the Little Haiti Mural Project curated by Yuval Ofir of YO Miami.

Collaborative Art Project for A Cause - Visit the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of South Florida booth and have fun creating artwork out of push pins. Donate $1 for every pin added to the artwork designs that will brighten a wall at the Ronald McDonald House of Miami.

Expert Advice for the Grown-Ups 

A Modern Take on Bathroom Design – Learn tips from HGTV and DIY Network celebrity designer, Matt Muenster at the Home Improvement Stage – 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4th and Labor Day, Monday September 5th;

Ask an Interior Designer – The Miami Home Show's five featured Interior Designers are on hand all weekend long to answer questions and offer advice. Each designer has created a room vignette dedicated to South Florida news journalists including CBS Anchor, Rick Folbaum and design by Reginald Dunlap of Luxe Interior Design and Finishing (Luxe IDF.)

Design for a Cause – Alena Capra, the lead designer on the TV series Operation Build, airing on A&E and FYI networks, will speak on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Florida – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3rd.

"Collection Drive" for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of South Florida 

The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show is proud to announce this year's featured non-profit organization and launch its first "Collection Drive" to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of South Florida. Ronald McDonald House was created in the vision of "Keeping Families Close" and thanks to the community, it is the home for 500 families a year coming from all over the world. To make the house a Home, the organization relies on donations and have created a Wish List of much needed household items.  Help support these pediatric families that RMHC helps every year. A list can be found on the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show's Facebook page and on the website.

The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show takes place from September 2-6, 2016 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
