The Miami Dolphins will look to continue the success of their first preseason game when they head to Dallas for a matchup against the Cowboys on Friday night.
Miami's defense looked solid during its first preseason test, not allowing a point over the final three quarters of the game while forcing four turnovers.
The Dolphins offense scored 24 points off of those turnovers but overall did not look nearly as sharp as the defense.
With Week 1 of the NFL season just three short weeks away, Miami has a lot of things to work on between now and then.
Here are some of the main things to watch out for during the Dolphins preseason game against the Cowboys on Friday.
What Can We Expect In Arian Foster's First Preseason Action?
The Dolphins raised some eyebrows when they signed Arian Foster during the offseason. Coming off of a torn Achilles, there are plenty of questions surrounding how healthy Foster will be and how long he can stay that way. It will be interesting to see how many snaps he sees on Friday.
How Much Will Miami's Offensive Starters Play?
The Dolphins first team offense played two series' during the team's preseason opening win over the Giants but failed to pick up a first down. The struggles of the offense have been well documented during training camp so this will be something to keep a close eye on throughout the preseason.
Can The Dolphins Defense Continue It's Turnover-Forcing Ways?
Against the Giants last week Miami's defense forced four turnovers, including the interception by Bobby McCain pictured above. The defense is expected to be one of the strong points of the Dolphins this season.
Will Rookie Quarterback Brandon Doughty Continue To Impress?
Selected in the seventh round out of Western Kentucky, rookie quarterback Brandon Doughty has been impressive so far during training camp. He's received praise from his coaches and looked sharp during his preseason debut against the Giants so it will be interesting to see if he continues that trend against Dallas on Friday.
Is Rookie Jakeem Grant For Real?
Possibly the most impressive performance from Miami's first preseason game came from rookie receiver Jakeem Grant, who was good catching the ball and electric returning kicks. He could end up being a major part of the Dolphins moving forward but he will have to prove that he can play that well week in and week out.
Who Is Going To Step Up In The Dolphins Secondary?
One of the biggest question marks on the team is in the secondary. With several position battles going on and no clear favorites, it will be interesting to see if anyone can step up and separate themselves from the pack.
