Tropical Depression 6 Forms Over Eastern Atlantic

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The sixth tropical depression of the season has formed over the Atlantic.
At 11 p.m. Tuesday, TD #6 was located 715 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The depression is moving toward the northwest at around 14 mph.
This general motion is forecast to continue over the next couple of days, and the system is expected to remain over the open waters of the tropical Atlantic.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts.
Gradual strengthening is predicted, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm on Wednesday.
