DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins are pioneering a new way to make parking at home games more convenient for fans.

On Monday the Dolphins became the first professional sports team in Florida to partner up with a prepaid toll program.

The SunPass program will give fans a less expensive parking payment option for all stadium events.

Fans will need to have an active SunPass account and they must select the "Easy Pay" automatic replenishment option when logging into their account on SunPass.com.

Once activated, fans will be able enjoy the ease and convenience of SunPass Plus Parking.

"We seek to have our pulse on ways to improve the fan experience at our stadium," Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President of Operations Todd Boyan said. "This innovative partnership with Florida's SunPass Prepaid Toll Program allows our fans to enjoy the convenience of utilizing a widely-adopted service in the community while also enjoying a price savings."

Fans can look for the SunPass logo when entering the stadium to utilize the parking program.

Anyone paying with a SunPass will have a lower parking fee than those paying with cash.

The SunPass Plus parking option will be in place for all stadium events, beginning with the Dolphins preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on September 1st followed by the University of Miami's regular season opener against Florida A&M University on September 3rd.
