Keys Man Accused Of Sexual Relationship With A Minor

MARATHON (CBSMiami) - A middle Keys man is accused of having sex with an underage girl.
Dominic Portelli, 26, reportedly began a sexual relationship with the girl in 2015 when the victim was 15 years old. It continued until July of this year with the teen being 16 years of age, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said the teen's grandmother noticed changes in her behavior and checked the girl's cell phone; the cell phone was paid for and owned by the grandmother.
On the cell phone she saw evidence the girl was having a relationship with an older man. She called the Sheriff's Office to report the activity.
After examining the cell phone, and speaking with the grandmother and the girl, a warrant was obtained Portelli's arrest.
The Key Colony Beach man was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with obscene communications – traveling to meet the victim after using a computer to lure her; obscene communication – using a computer to seduce or lure the victim; child cruelty – using the victim to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault by a person over 24 years of age with a victim aged 16 or 17.
