MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - The mother of a missing toddler, who she claims is dead, has been on the Department of Children and Families radar since the girl and twin brother were born.

CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald reports that while the search continues for Angela Dufrene, just-released records from DCF renew questions about the agency's oversight of at-risk children.

When Angela and her twin brother were born in April 2014, Marjorie Dufrene was under DCF supervision following a child abuse arrest and six separate investigations.

The child's disappearance was discovered in July after an anonymous tip spurred a DCF investigation. Police believe Angela was last seen in November 2015 and her brother was removed from Dufrene. Her three older children are in Broward County with their father.

Dufrene hasn't been charged with a crime.
