POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Detectives are searching for two masked men who robbed a Pompano Beach apartment and threatened to kill the owner.

A security camera rolled inside the home showing a man walking up to the door to open it after hearing a knock on July 16th at 6 p.m.

Moments later, two men forced their way to an apartment where a man, who's a Santeria priest, and his wife were hosting another couple for a spiritual session.

The bandits searched the rooms and forced Miguel Luis Leyva and his wife Ehilta Bael Borjas, as well as Vladimir Garcia and Yenisel Laguna, to the ground.

The men, clad in dark-colored hoodies, noticed there was a security camera and disconnected it.

They went on to tie the victims with wires and items found around the home.

At one point, the men demanded money from them. When Garcia hesitated, deputies said, they began to hit him several times in the face and back.

"It took about 30 minutes, 30 minutes of torture, 30 minutes of complete terror for these victims while they're being held at gunpoint," said Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Gina Carter.

The men went on to ransack the apartment and get away with cash, jewelry, computer equipment and keys to a car and the home, deputies said.

But before they got away in a white SUV, the two men threatened to come back and kill Garcia.

"As they left they made a very clear threat that they would come back and they would kill the victim," said Carter.

The couple who lived in the apartment has since moved out, fearing the attackers would come back and make good on their murderous promise.

Anyone who recognizes the men in the security footage or have information on the case is urged to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493- TIPS.
