DELAND (CBSMiami) – A violent rollover crash looked like a scene straight out of an action movie but thanks to a few good Samaritans – the drive was able to make it out alive.

"We couldn't pull him out of the windows because the car was crushed," said Good Samaritan Jarrod Winfield.

The tumbling crash - captured on a business' surveillance video also shows the frightening moments after bystanders ran towards the wreck, trying to save the driver's life as smoke came from the mangled, overturned sedan.

"People came over with fire extinguishers to put out the fire. We flipped the car over and pulled the guy out so he didn't burn alive," said Winfield.

"I start pulling him out and another guy about my age helps me pull him out of the car," said another good Samaritan.

Then cops and paramedics took over and did their job. Rescuers rushed the driver to a hospital in a helicopter

Officials say he sustained head trauma when his car careened a few hundred yards, first hitting a mailbox and then some ATVs parked outside a scooter dealership before flipping multiple times.

"It probably did four or five 360s in the air," said Winfield.

No one else was hurt because of the crash. It's something the good Samaritans say they're thankful for and glad that many were quick to try to save the man who was hurt.

"The more people, the better in this situation to help somebody and possibly save their life," said Winfield.

"If it weren't for the bystanders, he wouldn't have made it, at least this far," said Morgan Bissel.

The driver is expected to be okay. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
