DELTONA (CBSMiami/AP) — The Volusia County State Attorney's Office has decided not to pursue charges against a middle school teacher in the death of a baby she left in the backseat of her SUV while she taught class.

State prosecutors say there was "insufficient evidence" to prove an aggravated manslaughter case against Chanda Larson for the September 18th death of 6-month-old Trenton Cason-Collins.

Trenton was in the care of 39-year-old Larson. Investigators say she forgot to leave him at daycare after dropping off her own son and another child at a bus stop and a school. She called 911 about 4 p.m. after finding the baby in the car seat.

Larson was placed on paid leave after the incident and now teaches in the county's online education system.
