KEY WEST (CBSMiami) -- A dedicated bicycle trail system is aiming to link dozens of major cities along the east coast from the southern tip of Florida to Canada.

Non-profit organization East Coast Greenway Alliance has developed the nearly 3,000-mile bike route that includes more than 30 percent of the journey on traffic-free paths, offering safe and accessible routes for cyclists, walkers, runners and other muscle-powered users of all ages and abilities.

"The ECG fosters healthy lifestyles, empowers sustainable transportation, and promotes tourism," the company states on their YouTube account.
