MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Three shooting suspects were taken into custody after a brief police chase on I-95 on Tuesday.

It started with gunfire and would end in a screeching halt on I-95.Police said three shooting suspects bailed out of their red Oldsmobile and tried to make a run for it but police caught up.

Danielle Coles is the mother of one of the shooting victims she identified as Andrew Jackson.

"He works at the same place and don't bother nobody," said Coles. "I don't know what's going on."

She said she dropped her son off after they worked the morning shift at a Hollywood Burger King and got a call that he was hit.

Hallandale Beach police say just before noon her son and two others were shot in the 900 block of NW 10th street. One of the victims was on a bicycle.

"At this time we only know that there were three victims because one victim actually arrived at Memorial Regional Medical Center with wounds that were sustained in reference to this scene as well, " said Capt. Rashana Dabney-Donovan with Hallandale Beach Police.

Carlos Roque was working at his stone craft business when he heard gunfire over the back fence.

"I ducked down in case a bullet would come through," said Roque.

A Hollywood police officer saw the shooting suspects take off in the red Oldsmobile and head South on I-95.

Police followed them down the highway where they were stopped just before the Dolphin Expressway (SR-836).

Police are trying to figure out what led to the shooting.

Coles is praying her son will pull through.

"I just lost my grandson to gun violence. Now this, I'm done with Miami. I'm done," said Coles.
