MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Former foes Netflix and Comcast are now coming together as the popular streaming service and cable giant announce a new partnership.

Comcast customers will soon be able to stream their favorite Netflix shows via Comcast's X1 set-top boxes.

Netflix already has more than 81-million subscribers.

But this match-up with the largest U.S. cable provider could mean even more.

Experts say Comcast will benefit from the deal because it's finally recognizing the rising popularity of streaming services.

The exact terms of the deal haven't been released yet but it's likely that Comcast will receive a cut of each new subscriber that signs up for Netflix's service through the X1. Netflix charges $8 to $12 per month, depending on the type of plan selected.

In a separate deal announced Tuesday, Netflix is entering into a new, multi-year agreement with The CW to continue to stream Jane The Virgin, The Flash, Supergirl and others.
