MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Ready set, relax! It's time for Miami Spa Month - actually two months!

It kicked off July 1st with a record 41 participating spas offering special deals.

This is the ninth year the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau has launched the popular summer promotion.

CBS4's Lisa Petrillo started off at Lapis Spa inside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

"We have facials, hot stone massages, aromatherapy and much more. The treatments are up to 50 percent off," said Massage Therapist Nancy Cabrera.

The Lapis Spa has a full menu of discounted treatments including the Hot Rocks Massage. It's a 50-minute full body Swedish massage with oil and hot lava stones (heated up to 135 degrees). This helps relieve tired, strained muscles and relax the over-stressed mind. The treatment cost about $109. Guests who book treatments also get full use of all of the facilities of the spa, hotel and pool.

At the Miami Beach Edition Spa, four treatments are offered up on the Miami Spa Month menu.  Some incorporate three treatment packages that also include manicures and pedicures.

"There's a lot of services and offerings and every spa picks their best service, so that every single guest can experience it at a discounted price," said Miami Beach Edition's Spa Director Adriana Hernandez.

One of their treatments is called the Edition Oxygenating Facial. It's an all-encompassing 60-minute facial that includes a vitamin-rich enzyme massage and oxygen infusion spray sure to leave the skin glowing,

You can also give the gift of spa with a gift certificate at participating spas online at www.spafinder.com.
