DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones skipped all of the team's voluntary OTAs during the first few weeks of June.

He then missed the first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

The consensus was that Jones was going to continue to hold out as the Pro Bowler wanted to restructure his contract.

That all came to a halt on Wednesday however, as Jones surprised everyone and joined the Dolphins minicamp.

"I missed my teammates," Jones said. "I feel confident that the organization and my agent will work something out."

Jones told the media that while he hasn't been around the Dolphins facility, he's been working out on a daily basis.

Both teammates and head coach Adam Gase noted that Jones showed up in good shape and didn't seem to have any problem keeping up.

"What was he here, an hour and a half? And he was able to go in and practice," Gase said. "It's not that hard."

He is currently entering the third year of a four-year contract worth $28 million and is set to make $7.25 million this season.

Jones was the only player in the NFL last season to record at least five interceptions and 100 tackles, leading Miami with 135. He also made his first Pro Bowl.

The Dolphins could fine Jones around $25,000 for missing Tuesday's mandatory practice.

Gase will hold the team's final minicamp practice on Thursday and Jones confirmed that he would be there, and at all other team events through the regular season.

"Everything's behind me. I'm ready to play football," he said. "I missed the game, man. I don't want to bring distraction to my team. I talked to a couple of my teammates, and I wanted to be out here with these guys, working, get everything done."
