OCALA (CBSMiami/AP) — An Ocala neighborhood is feeling safe again after a court ruling earlier this week.

A Florida teen pleaded guilty to an attempted murder charge and will spent 15 years in prison for shooting his neighbor.

Circuit Judge Anthony Tatti on Tuesday ordered 17-year-old Brosnan Hart to also serve 10 years of probation after his release from prison.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports Hart's neighbor identified him as the person who knocked on his front door in February and shot him when he opened the door.

Authorities believe the shooting followed a robbery at the neighbor's apartment a day earlier.

While the neighbor didn't report the robbery, he later said Hart and three others broke into his home and took $1,400.

Hart noted that this was his first criminal offense. But the judge responded that Hart's crime is "about as serious as it can get."
