FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - For a second time in the last week or so an alligator has been found with a human body in its mouth.

The latest incident happened at Lake Hunter in Lakeland.

The gator swam off when the police showed up. Trappers eventually caught an alligator in the lake and will run tests to confirm whether it was the same gators.

An autopsy will be performed on the body to see if it was killed by a gator.

Last week, a gator was found eating human remains in a Southwest Ranches canal.

The man's body was found Monday, May 30th, by two fisherman in a canal west of U.S. 27, just north of Sheridan Street.  Police sharpshooters stood guard as a dive team pulled what was left of the body from the water.

Police said the man's body was largely intact but badly decomposed. Investigators believe the man was dead before the gators began to feed on his body.
