Family Member Of Miami Beach Police Officer Found Dead

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Davie police are at the home of a Miami Beach police officer where a family member was found dead.
Davie police spokesperson Dale Engle said the deceased is a male in his early 20s.
He added the circumstances surrounding the man's death appear to be suspicious.
Detectives and crime scene technicians with the Davie Police Department are on the scene.
A number of Davie police car and several from Miami Beach present throughout the evening at the scene.
A young man, who neighbors said lives in the police officer's residence, was escorted to a police department van.
About a half hour later in the evening, he was placed in another patrol car and was driven from the scene.
Miami Beach police confirmed the open death investigation involving a family member of one of their officers.
Officer Ernesto Rodriguez, spokesperson for the Miami Beach Police Department, issued this statement:
"Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to our detective and her family."
