Dwork On Sports: Wes Welker Shows Up At Dolphins OTA Practice

It's been ten years since Wes Welker has walked the halls of the Miami Dolphins training facility in Davie.
He left the Dolphins in 2007 as an up-and-coming, little-known receiver and blossomed into possibly the best slot wideout of all time.
In 11 NFL seasons Welker caught 903 passes for 9,924 yards and 50 touchdowns.
He went to three Super Bowls and was named to five consecutive Pro Bowls from 2008 to 2012.
While he has yet to officially announce his retirement, it's likely that Welker has played his last down in the NFL.
On Monday the likely future Hall of Famer was seen at the Dolphins OTA practice, chatting with players and coaches on the field.
Head coach Adam Gase, who worked with Welker in Denver, seems to have an open invitation for Wes whenever he wants to come by Dolphins camp.
"He shows up. I mean he lives like five minutes away," said Gase on Monday. "I think we're a good outlet for him and he's been a guy that with my history with him in Denver, I love being around him. He's such a football guy. For him to come out there and if our guys get one thing from him, I think that's a great, great thing for our guys to have a guy that's probably one of the best slot receivers of all-time being in the building."
Gase gave a quick "I'm sure" when asked if Welker would be around more, but was quick to say no when asked if the 35-year-old would ever be in uniform.
Either way, it certainly doesn't hurt to have a guy like Welker around for the Dolphins deep receiving corps to chat with.
