MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) -- An investigation is underway into a pair of shootings that left a man dead and another injured in Miami Gardens Monday.

One shooting happened just outside the Economy Food Store at 4195 NW 167th Street.

When police arrived, they found a man, with multiple gunshot wounds, dead in his delivery van.

The work van was from American Fasteners – a South Florida based company that supplies nuts, bolts, screws and other construction material.

The company confirmed the deceased man in the van worked for them.

The company is reportedly dealing with the family and also police.

Several blocks away, at 39th Court and 169th Street, a young man was spotted on a gurney being treated for gunshot wounds as well. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Miami Gardens police are not saying much about what went down. Neither are the folks in the corner grocery store which has an elaborate surveillance system.

"You have any surveillance video of this?" CBS4's Hank Tester asked the clerk.

"No, no, the people out there," is all the clerk said.

No one "out there" is coughing up video of the shooting.

Cops did work the neighborhood looking for video and any clues that might help out.

The theory on the street, not confirmed by police, is the victim was caught in a cross fire.

The corner store is apparently out of earshot for even those nearby.

One mechanic working right next door said they "did not hear anything."

There's no word yet on whether police have a suspect, but the scenes are apparently connected.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471- TIPS.
