Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Back In Action

MIAMI (CBSMiami) --Those tough talking turtles are back in action in theaters with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows.

This is the second installment of the hit action film directed by Michael Bay. The first one was a surprise overnight success bringing in a box office score of $ 65 million on its opening weekend.

In the latest installment, the four teenage turtles - named after Renaissance painters - must confront their greatest nemesis: The notorious Krang, who wants to take over the world.

Megan Fox reprises her role as enterprising journalist April O'Neal.

"It's a cool thing to be in movies like this. I love these movies because it's a super hero element and a super world and the way people respond to it is really fun," said Fox.

New this time around is aspiring detective Casey Jones played by actor Stephen Amell. CBS4's Lisa Petrillo asked him about having the tough job of playing Fox's love interest.

"I mean there's not a day I don't wake up in a cold sweat thinking of what an arduous hill that was to climb," Amell  said joking. "Megan is fantastic."

"I was telling Stephen you got the lucky straw. What did you think about him?" Petrillo asked Fox.

"I liked him a lot. We did a chemistry read. I chemistry read with a lot of guys and when Stephen was doing his chemistry read all of the casting directors and associates were like ahhhhhh and I knew this guy has got the role," said Fox.

For Amell, the toughest part of this job was in the magic of filming, talking and reacting to the turtles whose eyes were not where they should be.

"The turtles, they have two strings that come out of their heads way over the top and those are their eyes. So, if I was talking to you instead of looking at you in the eye like my parents taught me to, I have to look way up here," he said pointing in the air,"and it's a trick you have to learn."

This was not a problem for Fox.

"When you talk to the turtles, look at ping pong balls, and Stephen does that and I don't because I know you can adjust it in post. So Stephen concentrates really hard on ping-pong balls but I don't. I look them in their eyes . For him, it's really difficult. For me, I just disregard the rules," she said joking.

So do the turtles in a good way.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows is out in theaters now.
