MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A triple shooting overnight in Miami has left a teenager dead, two children hurt, and a family demanding answers.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Wednesday in front of a home near N.W. 6th Court and 69th Street in Liberty City.

"It was scary. They called for help and you come outside and you have to drag him inside," said Ivy Geer, an aunt to 18-year-old Trammell Raymond, Jr.

Raymond was shot multiple times while hanging out in front of the home and died at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

"He was sitting right here on a book container and you see where there's three gun shots and they shot him. They just opened fire," Geer said. "You walk up to our home and you killed. You shot point blank."

Raymond was taking high school courses at an alternative school, trying to get enough credit to graduate.

"He was my nephew. They are all kids. I don't have kids. They are my kids. They are my kids," Geer said.

Bullets also struck her 12-year-old niece and 13-year-old nephew. Both were inside the home.

"They got hit. They were just like any other kids sitting on the couch and the shots rang out they started running."

Witnesses heard multiple gunshots and a police shot spotter detected 14 shots in total.

"I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and I heard the gunshots. I just laid there. I didn't move, I didn't get up to see a thing because I didn't know where the shooting was coming from," said Helen Ables, a neighbor.

The two surviving youngsters were taken to the Holtz Children's Hospital.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools superintendent Alberto Carvalho spoke out on the youth gun violence as he attends graduations.

"Unacceptable. It's tragic. It's dramatic and it's heartbreaking to all of us. So I am grieving deeply for the family," said Carvalho.

Authorities are now asking for the community's help in solving the crime.

"If you hear somebody talk about the shooting and what happened last night every little fact and some information will help put the puzzle together so we can bring the offenders to justice," said Miami Police Chief Rodolfo Llanes.

Police do not have a motive and are unsure exactly how many shooters were involved, and whether or not this was gang or drug-related.

If you can help, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
