KEY WEST (CBSMiami) – "We need a bigger boat!" That's the comment from one startled fisherman after spotting a huge and hungry hammerhead shark chasing a tarpon under his boat.

As the shark, estimated to be about 14-feet long and a 1,000 pounds, chased its lunch around the charter boat, those on board the "Tails2Sails" shot video of the underwater action.

The video was taken by Captain Charles "Chuck" Donnley a few hundred yards off the coast of Fort Zachary Taylor State Park on the Atlantic side of Key West.

His mate, Jinnah Morris, described the moment as "surreal and so exciting."

In the video, someone else on board yelled, "Look at the size of that thing."

Morris had some family members on board the charter at the time.

After the hammerhead had its lunch-- yes the 100-pound tarpon lost this battle-- the shark simply swam back to the depths.

Apparently tarpon are pretty big in this area because here's a shot of the Capt. Chuck and guest Rob Morris reeling in a different but very large tarpon.

Tight lines!
