U.S. Special Forces Storm Ft. Lauderdale's Great American Beach Party

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- The elite Para-Commandos are storming the beaches of Ft. Lauderdale from the sky for the city's Great American Beach Party.

The elite United States Special Operations Command Para-Commandos will race towards earth at 120 mph before during a precision parachute demonstration on Saturday afternoon.

"We are thrilled to be back in South Florida and part of this fantastic community event," said Team Leader Keith Walter.

Comprised of U.S. Special Operations Command personnel headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, the team's made up of Army Green Berets, Army Rangers, the Air Force's Special Tactics, Navy SEALs, and the Marine Corps Special Operations.

United States Special Operations Command has approximately 63,000 active duty, reserve and National Guard soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and Dept. of Defense civilians. On any given day, more than 12,000 Special Operations Forces are deployed to over 70 countries worldwide.
