MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Detectives are looking for two men who left a man shot and fighting for his life at a barber shop in Miami.

The shooting happened at the "First Klass Barbershop" at 1120 N.W. 119th Street.

Officers arrived to find 35-year-old William St. Hilaire suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

Miami-Dade Police said the altercation started after the men got into a fight. One of them pulled out a gun and shot St. Hilaire.

"I was trying to stop the fight," said one man, who did want to be identified. "So then the guy got the gun, he pulled the trigger and shot him. He fell to the ground, then after, he walked into the shop. And I called 911 to rescue him."

The man said St. Hillaire knew the suspects were armed and tried to avoid the confrontation.

"He didn't wanna fight with them, 'cause he knew that they had guns," said the bystander. "I think it was an argument that they had before. So they just come to fight with him."

Investigators are looking for two black males in their mid-20's to early 30's seen fleeing eastbound on foot following the shooting.
