HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) -- Two men are in custody following a motorcycle chase that began in Homestead and ended in Miami.

Chopper4 was over the scene around 10 a.m. Tuesday as a motorcyclist weaved through traffic in Homestead at about 100 m.p.h., eventually making his way to southwest Miami-Dade.

The motorcyclist eventually pulled into a parking spot, jumped a wall and a fence, making a run for it on foot through a neighborhood.

At about 10:38 a.m., he laid himself on the ground and put his hands behind his back. Moments later, a cop ran up to him and arrested him near 137th Ave and SW 8th Street.

The chase had begun earlier in the morning in Homestead when, investigators say, an officer tried to stop him and another motorcyclist. That's when the motorcyclists reportedly gave chase and hit an officer's vehicle before speeding off.

Both men continued to avoid police before one of them crashed in the area of 137th Avenue and Florida's Turnpike. The other continued to avoid police until reaching Miami.

A police helicopter was able to give officers on the ground turn by turn instructions in their pursuit of the man who was eventually taken into custody.

No one was injured in the crash and chase.

Officers said one of the motorcycles used in the chase had been reported stolen.
