MIAMI (CBSMiami) – John George is accused of a horrific crime.

Miami police said he abused two young boys and left them with multiple skull fractures.

State prison records show George has a lengthy rap sheet including a stint for murder.

In court Tuesday, George's wife and the mother of the injured boys wept and buried her head in her hands as the judge heard about the severe head trauma to her children.

"(The children) were put into the pediatric intensive care unit," a state child welfare worker told the judge.

In court, CBS4 News learned that the mother of the children married George a mere 32 days ago.

The judge said the mother, who was not named in the court hearing, can see her sons in the hospital. However, the judge said she better not have any contact with George.

"If you even think of this man when you're with these children, even think of him, you'll never see these children again," the judge told her.

The Miami address George gave to probation officials is the same address where a home was damaged by fire on Monday. The circumstances of the fire remain under investigation but CBS4 cameras did capture a crime scene van outside the home.

For now, the judge in the family court case said she hopes George can do no more damage to anyone.

"I know that he already has a murder conviction so my guess is hopefully he will never get out of jail again," the judge said.

The attorney for the mother said her client is divorcing George and filing a restraining order against him.

Doctors said it's not clear what the long term damage to the children will be.
