MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Two deadly shootings in a Miami neighborhood that happened hours apart are under investigation.

So far, two people are dead and two others are injured from Thursday night's shootings. Now Miami Police want to know if the crimes are connected.

Police said the first shooting happened at a housing complex at NW 19th Terrace near 21st Avenue at around 8:40 p.m.

Neighbors told CBS4's Peter D'Oench they heard dozens of shots. Two victims were wounded in the lower part of the body, police say, and a third man - in his mid-twenties - who was shot in the chest died.

At the scene, a large bullet hole could be seen in the driver's side window of a white Dodge Avenger.

Investigators said some of the victims drove themselves to the hospital. Another person was found at the shooting scene.

Just four and a half hours later, at NW 62nd Street and 14th Avenue, police say a man between the ages of 30 and 35 was shot and killed by another housing complex.

Another car was seen shot up at that scene - a Chevy Impala with a bullet hole in the driver's side window.

Police said they are not sure if the crimes are connected but they are asking the public to speak up if they know anything about the shootings.
