MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The son of a Miami-Dade police major was granted bond Friday morning after being arrested and charged with dealing drugs.

Tyler Palmer, 20, is accused of dealing drugs from his father's home, according to the arrest affidavit.

The report states a search warrant for the home of Miami-Dade Police Maj. Arnold Palmer was executed on Wednesday May 4th, and during that search, detectives found bags of suspected marijuana, bags of suspected cocaine in a dresser and in a box under his bed, bottles with suspected amphetamine pills, a bong, a stash of suspected hallucinogen mushrooms known as psilocybin and more than $3,100 cash. All of these items were found in Tyler's bedroom, according to the report.

The younger Palmer was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of hallucinogens and amphetamines.

Palmer appeared in bond court Friday where the judge set his bond at $65,000 with Nebbia conditions, meaning the bond co-signers must prove any money used to post bond does not come as a result of illegal activities.

Maj. Palmer oversees the police department's economic crimes bureau, according to the police department's website.

His estranged wife, Damaris Palmer, is sergeant with the department.

The police department issued a statement, which reads, "The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) acknowledges the arrest of Mr. Tyler Palmer who is the relative of several MDPD employees.  There is no indication at this time of any involvement by our employees in this case; as such, their statuses with the department remain unchanged.  Due to the open nature of the investigation, we will not comment further."
