MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Crews rushed a child to the hospital after a personal water craft accident on Friday.

"It was just loud, like boom, like, so we knew it was something, hit something pretty heavy," said a witness, who identified themselves only as Percell.

The people who live off an Aventura canal  at 3040 NW 190th Street, near the Lehman Causeway, heard the crash after seeing the little boy and the man in the water moments earlier.

Percell explained, "The gentleman was just riding the kid on the Jet Ski and I don't know if he lost control or what."

"They are stating that they were driving a little carelessly in this canal and we're doing several circles and loop-the-loops and having fun," said Lorezno Veloz with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Florida Wildlife officials are investigating.  They told CBS4 the watercraft plowed into the boat while turning in the canal.

"He was riding in the front of the person. Upon impact he flew over the handlebars face first into the docked vessel," Veloz said.

That young boy ended up unconscious in the water with serious injuries. Fortunately he was wearing a lift jacket.

Rescue crews rushed the boy to the Ryder Trauma Center.

"He has a cracked orbital over his left eye and a severe concussion," Veloz said.

The condition of the adult who was also on the jet ski is unclear.
