MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are on the scene of a mass shooting in northwest Miami Friday night.

Multiple ambulances transported the victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

By time all the victims were in the emergency room, the count for this violent night in was four females and one male shot.

"A lot of shots like maybe 8 to 10 shots," said Ileana Suazo.

Police detectives and crime scene technicians scoured the middle of the intersection at 1506 NW 70 St.

Multiple shell casing littered the asphalt.

Locals are not surprised at the violence, and the will tell you they avoid walking down 15th avenue whenever possible.

"I always walk through alleys because 59th to around 57th there are days when they shoot. Anyone around gets shot," Suazo explained.

So what exactly went down leading to shots were fired from the backseat of a gray Nissan Altima?

No one is quite sure.

"About 15 rounds were shot at the time. Very fortunate that they are not fatalities," said Officer Rene Pimentel.

"So it is a standard drive by?" asked CBS4's Hank Tester.

"Pretty standard," Pimentel replied.

Family members gathered at Jackson Memorial Hospital concerned but relieved that no one shot is in serious condition.

Yet no one at the hospital is talking about what happened. And the identities of those shot are still unknown.

But for sure the bloody nights and days continue in the Magic City.

"We have to stop this epidemic that is killing our community. We have to bring a cease to this senseless gun fire," said Pastor Vernon Gillum.
