Lauren's List: Become A "Morning Person" Overnight

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - If you're a chronic "snoozer" (like me), you've probably overslept at some point in your life.

Well, this "Lauren's List" is for you.

When I made the switch last year from working nights to mornings, my entire schedule got flipped upside down.

I went from never setting an alarm to setting four every single day

Now people ask me all the time, "What time do you get up for work?"

The answer to that is 2 a.m.

So how do you just become a morning person overnight? A few tricks have worked wonders for me to make sure I get to work on time.

First, move your alarm away from your bed. I set multiple alarms on my phone, but the power to hit snooze is strong for sure. So, move the alarm away from your bed so you force yourself to actually get up and get moving.

The next tip is plan ahead.

Pick out your clothes and pack your meals the night before.

If you're trying to wake up to work out, consider putting your workout gear right next to wherever you put your alarm for that little bit of extra motivation. Some people even go as far as to sleep in their workout clothes. That's dedication right there.

Next on my list of morning tricks: check social media!

This may go against expert advice, but for me seeing what went on while I was sleeping helps me get pumped up for the day ahead, especially if I see a fun picture of friends or a hilarious meme.

And finally, set up a wake-up call.

I have a confession: my mom calls me every day at 2:30 a.m. to make sure I'm awake.

I know that may seem crazy (and it is), but there are actually services you can sign up for online that will keep calling until you answer.

Here are a few options, some of which are free.
