ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) - Nearly 60 residents of an Orlando apartment complex will have to find a new place to stay after a fire damaged nearly two dozen units.

Firefighters were called to the Regency Gardens condominium around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Orlando police Cpl. Jason Engelhardt says their officers and firefighters checked the units and evacuated about 20 people and their pets.

Investigators say 22 units were damaged by the fire, which they believe started in some mulch and spread to the building. At least 58 people were displaced.

The American Red Cross is helping to assist those who were displaced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
