Late Wednesday, an SUV slammed straight into the living room of an Arbor Keys apartment, shaking the home's foundation and startling the family out of their beds.

"I was fast asleep and heard a kaboom. And I was still asleep, man, when I realized this lady is sitting in my living room, dining room... in her truck! And just looking at me," said a resident at the home.

The woman allegedly behind the wheel -- Yraida Ramirez, 41, who hobbled into court on crutches Thursday morning.

14 hours after the accident, she's now facing charges for DUI.

Ramirez, dealing with a broken foot prior to the crash, told deputies she was returning home to her apartment, just doors away, after buying ibuprofen.

When asked if she had been drinking, Ramirez said she had a pinch of coconut rum.

"It's a parking lot. Like, how do you crash into a house," asked another resident who lives nearby.

It's the obvious question all of Ramirez's neighbors are asking.

"We were just shocked," said Tamesha Heath, who lives above the unit that was impacted. "I think that's crazy. I heard that she was on medication because of her foot. And I feel like if you're on medication, you shouldn't be driving at all."

As the judge listed off her charges and what it would cost to bond out of jail, Ramirez could only hang her head in shock and disbelief.
