BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) -- A Boynton Beach Police officer is out of a job after an investigation into whether he got caught during an undercover prostitution bust.

Following an Internal Affairs investigation, the department said Tuesday Vintyre Finney was terminated over conduct unbecoming of an officer and issues with conformance to law.

According the report, Finney had offered to commit prostitution back on October 27, 2015 landing him in custody in Palm Beach County. He allegedly negotiated oral sex for $20 from an undercover Palm Beach Sheriff's deputy.

During the investigation, officers said video evidence gave them reason to continue the investigation and eventually fire Finney.

Finney was hired by the Boynton Beach Police department back in 2008. He was first placed on administrative leave with pay on October 2015 and on April 11th, he was relieved of duty.

Acting Chief Kelly Harris said it was a difficult decision for the department.

"The decision to terminate someone's employment is difficult for all involved but when it becomes apparent that an employee is either unwilling or incapable of maintaining agency standards, it's a decision that must be made," said Kelly."We are committed to continuing to turn this agency around and rebuilding the community's trust."
