MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Welcome to Pisco Y Nazca, a modern style Peruvian restaurant and gastrobar at the Town and Country Plaza in Kendall.

This warm, trendy and friendly large space with dining inside and out, has quickly become the it spot in the neighborhood since it opened last November .

"We knew Kendall wanted something different and unique. We didn't know how bad they wanted it. As soon as we came in, it's been crazy ever since," said owner Juan Carlos Marchan.

Maybe that's because of its name.

"It means to have fun with friends and family with a couple of drinks and enjoy a good time," said Marchan .

CBS4's Lisa Petrillo asked,"That name means all that?"

"Yes it does," laughed Marchan.

It all begins at the bar - the centerpiece of the restaurant where creative cocktails make for a fun experience.

Petrillo had the signature "Pisco Punch" made with Pisco, fresh pineapple, papaya, Inca Cola and plum bitters.

"WOW! The Pisco punch has punch for sure," joked Petrillo after sipping the drink.

Drinks are fun but the real proof is on the plate.

"The one thing we wanted to have is to share our love for Peruvian cuisine and for our industry. We love what we do. We come here every day. We cook our butts off," said Marchan.

Chef Miguel prepared three tasting dishes for Petrillo starting with the ceviche. There are seven types on the menu.

Petrillo tried the Ceviche Cremoso. It has Mahi Mahi made with creamy leche de tigre, celery, habanero and sweet potato.

"Ceviche Cremosa is smooth, delicious with fresh lemon and I can literally lap up the sauce," Petrillo said.

Next up was the Que Bestia Burger which means the beast burger in English! Its 8 ounces of Angus beef, pretzel bun, tomato chutney, peppers and shoestring potatoes.

"The beast is a beast in a good way! The meat is super tender and the potatoes have a crunch on it. I taste a sweet as well and then on a pretzel bun! Hello? That's just crazy," Petrillo exclaimed.

And finally, The Lomo Saltado was served up. It's like an Asian stir fry with filet mignon soy sauce, vinegar, onions, tomato wedges, and rice.

"It's totally different flavor and it can be in a Japanese restaurant, or Chinese. The meat is tender and delicious," Petrillo said.

Pisco Y Nazca – it's where great Peruvian food and drink are kickin' it in Kendall!

It's opened seven days a week for dinner. Lunch is served Friday through Sunday. Click here for more information.
