Data Breach At Palm Beach County Health Department

WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) — A data breach at Palm Beach County's Health Department may affect more than a thousand people.

The department contacted the IRS and FBI last February and provided them with a list of those who may be affected. The county Health Department says notices were also mailed to all clients whose names were on the list.

Department officials didn't release details on how the breach occurred.

Department spokesman Tim O'Connor advised everyone who has been a client in one of the health centers to review their credit history for any fraudulent or suspicious activities they haven't authorized.
