MARQUESAS KEY (CBSMiami) -- Newly released video of a group of Cuban migrants sailing to the U.S. has given a glimpse into the dramatic journey like many have never seen before.
The video, from Saturday, begins as 21 people cheer, sing and smile for the camera aboard a makeshift vessel looming closer and closer to free land with each rolling wave.
Once they reach the Marquesas Key shore, they hug and celebrate their safe arrive on U.S. soil. One man can be seen praying as soon as his feet hit the sand. Others kissed the ground as they exited the boat.
Boaters flying a personal drone happened to be in the area and caught footage of the refugees reveling in their triumph.
U.S. law allows the group to stay.
