MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Thanks to volunteers and the Broward Sheriff's Office, kids at Joe DiMaggio's Children Hospital got a visit from the Easter bunny.
Call them the "bunny brigade" -- Broward Sheriff's Office Explorers consider it an incredibly important job. They're making sure the patients at the hospital know that Easter will not go on without them.
While many of the roughly one hundred kids were focused on the gift baskets filled with toys and treats, others were grateful for the comfort that the furry Easter bunny could provide.
It also meant something to the young people spending the holiday with children who won't get to hunt for their Easter eggs this year.
"We get to see the smiles on the children's faces," said one of the volunteers.
It was a welcome visit for kids of all ages, even the older ones, able to suspend their belief and take comfort in the person inside the bunny suit.
"Some bunny loves me," a patient joked.
