DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Welcome to The Field Irish Pub and Eatery off Griffin Road in Dania Beach.

For 15 years now, this charming, authentic Irish pub has been serving up classic Irish food and drink to faithful locals and visitors from afar. Dining is inside and out near the giant banyan tree.

Alan and Sheelyn Craig are the owners.

"I think at the time, we wanted to create a little bit of Ireland in South Florida. There wasn't a lot around. There's a lot of Irish people but they were spread out, so the idea of opening an Irish pub and bringing people together appealed to us at the time," said Alan.

"So when you look around the place, from the signs that say "Sláinte" to the little Irish trinkets that has to part of it as well," asked CBS4's Lisa Petrillo.

"Absolutely. When I come in here, I always feel like I'm at home in Ireland, it's fantastic," said Sheelyn.

St Patrick's Day is the day here at The Field.

"We don't take reservations. Just come in, we are too busy for reservations for this day," Sheelyn said.

"Obviously on Saint Patrick's Day, people are looking for three things: authentic Irish food, which we got. The other things they look for is authentic Irish music and obviously the Irish drink -- which are heavily supported by Guinness and just about all the Irish beers are available," said Alan.

A pint of Guinness is most definitely the drink of the day -- it's all about the pour and the stories behind the drink.

"So back in the day in Ireland, nursing mothers drank Guinness because it produces iron in the mother's milk," said Alan.

So let's get to grub -- Chef Andrew is at the helm in the kitchen and we begin with his Donegal mussels.

Fresh black mussels in white wine, garlic and cream -- served with garlic bread.

"They really are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sauce has so much flavor and you want to just keep popping them in your mouth. These are just like little pops of heaven," CSB4's Lisa Petrillo said after tasting.

Next, drunken chicken -- chicken breast pan-seared in an Irish whiskey cream sauce with mushrooms.

The mushrooms on top make it smooth with sauce and it feels like a fancy dish but it's not because were in a cool Irish pub.

And finally the classic -- corn beef and cabbage served with whole grain Dijon.

It's St.Patrick's Day and this is the dish you want. It's tender and the cabbage is cooked perfectly. It's a little bite of Ireland right on your plate.

The Field Irish Pub and Eatery -- where the luck of the Irish is celebrated year round. It's opened 7 days a week.
