MIAMI (CBSMiami) --  The body of a man reported missing after his wave runner was found on a Miami lake has been found.

Miami-Dade Police divers reportedly found Jose Montes de Oca's body in the mangroves in Blue Lagoon Lake near Miami International Airport.

"Earlier today around 2:30 p.m. Miami-Dade's Dive and Unerdwater rescue recovery team got a hit on a side scan sonar under the vessel. Immediately, they sent the Miami-Dade dive team into the water which confirmed that it was the body that we were looking for," said Lorenzo Veloz with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Officers said the family confirmed the body was that of Montes De Oca.

Crews had been searching for him since Saturday after friends told police they found the wave runner belonging to the 46-year old but did not see him.

Montes De Oca had left from Antonio Maceo Park at NW 7th Avenue. They also said he wasn't wearing a life vest.

The wave runner looked like it may have crashed into some trees, investigators said.

Montes De Oca leaves behind three children. His cause of death remains unknown at this time.
