MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Presidential hopeful Donald Trump, known for wanting to build a wall along the Mexican border is now embroiled in a dispute over a "green wall" at his Doral resort.

Trump has filed a lawsuit against half a dozen homeowners who line portions of his famed Blue Monster, claiming they've destroyed trees and foliage he installed as a buffer in his $200 million face-lift of the resort.

In his suit Trump says the property owners "have trespassed by entering the golf course and destroying the plants."

The homeowners have denied destroying Trump's landscaping, and claim he's ruined the view they once enjoyed from their backyards. Trump says the issue involves more than just aesthetics.

"There are safety concerns.  You have golf balls. You have large mower devices, and it's important to protect our neighbors, and the best way to protect our neighbors from flying golf balls is to put in these buffers," said Ed Russo – a Trump representative.

Trump opponent Marco Rubio weighed in on the lawsuit filed against the resort's neighbors calling it another case of Trump "sticking it to hard-working Floridians and conning people out of their money."
