MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A South Florida woman is heartbroken after she discovered her parrot who has been with her for 33 years was stolen.

"I would take her, feed her, grab her or kiss her and hug her, put her back in her cage," said owner Elbia Nasco.

It's what Nasco wuld do every morning to her loving parrot but Wednesday morning she discovered her treasured bird was gone.

"It's like taking my heart out of my body. That's how bad it is," said Nasco.

That's because her parrot named baby was much more than a feathered friend.

"Taking the bird away from me, it's like taking the life of my child. That's how much it means to me. I had her such a long time," said Nasco.

For 33 years Baby - a green and yellow head Nape- has been a part of the Nasco family but at around 4 a.m. she and her husband were woken up by her dog barking. Her husband went to the backyard and said he saw someone running out the front. She quickly ran to check on baby but her cage was empty.

"She sings la Cucaracha. She says my mom's name Mima, my son Max, my daughter's name Jacqueline, everybody's name. We play music. She dances. She eats everything, black beans, rice, lobster," said Nasco.

She says three parakeets and two cockatoos were also taken. She is devastated and is begging they bring Baby back.

"I hope you guys have a heart and bring her back just tell me where I will pick her up please just return my bird," said Nasco
