MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Early voting kicked off Monday in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties ahead of the March 15th Florida Primary.

South Floridians were proud to show they voted early for the primary.

"Very easy, very fast and I'm pleased," said Gloria Mendez who voted early.

Ray Williams brought his son with him to fulfill their civic duty.

"I woke him up and dragged him here," said Williams. "I believe in voting in every process and I like to get it out-of-the-way. It's easy. It's done."

Most voters kept quiet about their pick for president at least in front of CBS4's cameras but supporters and critics of Republican front-runner Donald Trump were not shy about their feelings.

"My candidate is Donald Trump," said Nelson Virt.

"I did not vote for Donald Trump, that to begin with," said Mendez.

Advocates of Florida Senator Marco Rubio also voiced their pick for commander chief.

"We have to support Marco Rubio," a voter told CBS4's Gaby Fleischman in Spanish.

Early voting in Miami-Dade county ends Sunday, March 13th.  Those wanting to vote early can do so from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Click here for early voting locations in Miami-Dade.

There are 30 early voting sites across Miami-Dade County this year, up from 20, which was designed to make the process faster and smoother than previous years.  Overall, there are more voting machines available. Voters no longer have to wait for a machine designated by alphabetical order. Those giant voting registration books manned by poll workers are also gone. Electronic voter check in is now in place.

In Broward County, early voting starts March 5th and runs until March 13th from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Click here to find early voting locations in Broward.

Deadlines have already passed to register to vote, or switch parties. Elections Departments have also already started sending out absentee ballots.

In Miami-Dade County, nearly 56-thousand absentee ballots have already been returned. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, March 8th.
